Swapping out the 5 lug stuff seems a little extreme, in the stripping of a car.

That one was listed before. The previous auctions were closed once, twice or more. The vehicle has a new paint job (or the hatch was painted) and wheels, now. The price seems to get higher with every listing.

The car has a dirty title, might have been wrecked and stripped... or a theft that was stripped.

The numbers were checking out the last time it was posted somewhere.

Even if it turns out to be the one white w/ red interior car... it's worth no more than a grand.

It is looking like a car that the Ford VIN numbers and Saleen ID's have been swapped to another car...I'd love to look at the VIN tags under the fenders to see if they match the car windshield VIN tag.

How is the title branded? rebuilt? total? salvage? replaced VIN?

If someone wants to take the effort, we can see how the title is branded.

There's never been a photo of the underhood Saleen tag, which makes me think it's no longer there. Same goes for the shifter plate ID. There was the photo of the Saleen conversion sticker on the drivers door. If the drivers apron wasn't replaced... there should be the two holes.

Someone could ask for photos of the large Ford Vehicle on the drivers door and every present VIN sticker on the panels, if they were not painted over. Same goes for a photo of the core tag, if the front wasn't clipped.

You see the response given to the question about this being an authentic Saleen. Testy people with a POS car. The photo they of the reg. doesn't prove anything. I think the owner trolled the boards. They grabbed "some" information about what they "might" have during their previous attempts to auction the car. I think that Saleen registry image they're using was posted somewhere.

I'd be willing to lean more towards that this could be the original Saleen shell, but most everything was stripped off on it... including the Saleen plates.

Since the owners say nothing about contacting Pati at Team Saleen, which would be in their favor, they had no interest in actually verifying what they own. The verification letter would help them out.

With a BIN of $3,800... there's better cars out there.

It is worth no more than a standard LX in the same condition. I would bet that it is a VIN change car or a rebody. Its rough in the first palce and has no original parts except some ground effects which may not be correct.

I agree with Scott.

David has a point also. Without an engine bay plaque and console plaque and none of the Saleen parts it's really a ghost. If the car has it's original vin tag above the dash and it has not been rebodied then it would just be a stripped Saleen mustang. Not much value there.
I think the guy should pay someone to take it away as opposed to trying to get money out of it.
