Really bad gas mileage

Yea try doing a good tune up. Also it might be that your gas gauge is broken. On my truck if I go 50 miles it will say that im about on empty, but in reality I can go 300 miles to a tank. So I dont even pay attention to the gauge. How many gallons is it taking at the pump?

As stated above, the needle does seem to come down VERY quickly after you get off the full mark. Also I have noticed that it doesnt move down simultaneously either. It kinda goes down in increments. Mine might stay in the same spot for 25-30miles and if I catch it move, it looks like a giant drop. I usually get 55-60miles before it comes off the full mark.

If your're having a severe mileage issue, I wouldnt be so quick to think a tune up will fix all your problems. Dont forget we are in winter for starters, plus we now have this 10% ethanol crap (atleast I do), and I deffinately dont get as good as mileage as I was getting this past summer. I'd have to approximate a 30-40 mile per tank difference. I havent "recorded" it, but sure seems that way.

As for the spark plugs...I just changed mine at 95k miles which were the ones from when the car was built for all I know (2nd owner), and I noticed no increase in MPG.

Dude I get the same problem. I had went 92 miles last week and filled up with 7 gallons and thats like 13 mpg. I had my MA sensor cleaned out and all that jazz but it still sucks. I can usually go about 280 miles on a full tank which sucks too.
