It could be hard getting old sensor out because it is probably seized in. But at this point you don't care whether you brake it while taking it out. Cheapest sensor I had seen was on ebay. Brand new was selling for $20. Ebay deal no longer available. You can get one now for ~$50 at www.fordparts.com

attaching shop manual printout for this job.

The only thing you can do is take your time. I have gotten them out before. I kept spraying it with WD40 and lightly tapping. Once I got it to move, I started turning/twisting. Little by little, it started working its way out.

Now there has been other times the sensors just said "F--- YOU!" And I broke them. All you can do is try your best.

Thanks for that PDF write up. I've been looking for these instructions for a while.

Just soak it down with PB blaster for a day or two before you tackle it. Then use a nice tight socket and break it loose.

Just trace the wiring and unplug the old one. I beleive it goes in under the rear seat
