Yea, its there. Looks like all you need is another c-clip. Id take the carrier out and check everything just to make sure though. Its just the 4 bolts. But make sure you remember what side everything was on or you could **** up the wear pattern of the gears.
Yup, looks like its still there. Wow, must've been a faulty C-clip then. You'll need to remove this pin to install the new C-clip. Sould be a really quick fix if nothing else got damaged. Just make sure to insect all of the gear tooth faces really well to make sure there was no other damage caused by the debris.
sweet, thanks for the help...i just wonder where the c-clip went...maybe that metal shard or it came flying out when i opened up the case and the fluid went EVERYWHERE in my garage!!! what a mess that was!!
rotate the gears some there should be a bolt that goes through it take that out and hit the pin in, not all the way, then rotate gear then pull the metal shaft out.
you talking the S-clip that needs to be removed to put in the C-clip..?
No, not the S-Clip. Just the pinion shaft. Turn the carrier till you see a small bolt on it. I think its an 8MM and take that out. Then you can slide the pinion shaft out. Replace c-clip, pop in pinion shaft, do burnout.
alright, and how bout the clip on the passeneger side....is it on the inside of the S-Clip or the outside? and the S-clip moved a little bit, will i be alright still? just how precise does everything have to be?
Im not sure about the s-spring, but if everything turns fine, then it should be ok. check out that site I showed you. They have all kinds of stuff about it on there.
