I want to black out my trunk between the lights. What method looks the best? I know of the black vinyl on eBay, the panels from 3dCarbon or GTS or just painting it. I have not seen any pictures or anyone around me with this mod. So if you have seen them, which is the best looking?

I'd take it to a paint shop and paint it. That way you don't have to worry about water, dust, and dirt getting behind the panel.

myxmach1,

Which brand is that? I am assuming the GTS. What do you think of the fit? How thick would you say it is? Have you washed it yet and if so, does it scratch easily?

I like the nice big picture!!!

This is the black panel from Xenon. It is about 1/16" and dark smoked. If I was placing it on a lighter colored car I would probably paint the trunk section black to keep any bleed through. I got it from crossroadzdirect.com.

As far as washing it; I know it is plastic so I am careful not to you abrasives on it. I think this should be a Dealer add-on option like the blue-tooth or stripes. It applies in 30 seconds and finishes off the back end. Also, one part fits all S197 Mustangs of all colors. Anyway, I like it.

I bought both the xenon panel, and the vinyl one you can get off of ebay. I liked the vinyl decal better because the fit was almost perfect. The xenon panel didn't fully cover the area around the GT emblem on the rear. I could see red on both sides of it, so I sent it back. Here is a picture of the ebay one.
