I plan on re-painting the metal on my under my dash, kick and quarter panels. It's the standard black interior. Would like to know what is the best product to match the original color and sheen. Also, techniques to paint and not loose the texture that's on the panels. There's a subtle pattern that I don't want to loose.

You're not going to color match your 58 year old panels so: If matching is important, plan to do all of the interior pieces vs. just a few.
Some folks use paint with great success too. I've been pleased with how well the VHT dye holds up over time.
