Well I'm not a fan of the horizontal red reflectors in my rear bumper. I cant see how they legally need to be there since most aftermarket body kits down have them. So I'm thinking of blasting mine with a ton of nightshades. What do you think? Anyone done it?

Meant to post this in talk, sorry.

Well not all aftermarket parts are legal. Look at the body kits by major manufacturers like Saleen and Roush, they have the side reflectors.

The reflectors are there to fulfill the legal requirement to have an amber and red reflector visible from the side profile of the car. If you remove or modify this, the car technically does not meet the legal requirement.

However unless you live in cali where they nitpick, i doubt they will care.

I purchases some clear reflectors for my car. On a silver (like mine) or white car i think it would look clean, but on any other color it would look bad. On a dark car, i'd put a layer of tint on them or spray em darker.

I haven't installed my clear reflectors yet. It's a PITA to pull the bumper to do this and i'm lazy
