Rear end cover colts, what do I tq them to?

I just wanna make sure its on snug enough. I got a drop or two leaking past the cover and I'm gonna replace the gasket & rebuild the trac-lok this winter, but I got one more track day and I just wanna make sure all the bolts are tq'd correctly.

Torque spec is 25-35 ft.lbs for the rear cover bolts. You do not need a gasket for the cover though, a quality RTV silicone does a great job.

I learnt a couple tricks through the summer, and one of them was to NEVER use gaskets on diff covers, always a bead of RTV/silicone.

I've done both -- but in order to have the gasket not leak I had to use some RTV.

I agree ... save the trouble and just use RTV.
