i don't know.

as long as it's an 8.8" rear it will fit. i'm not sure if there is a difference or not though. the splines may be different, and if that's the case you'll need different axles. do a little research on google or something to find out the specs. i have an 31 spline unit 8.8" out of a mid 80's bronco in my car.

If it's the whole axle housing the length is too wide... if it's the differential itself & is out of an 8.8 it should fit like axeman said (taking into consideration for the splines).

A mid size LTD rear should be a straight swap I believe itf it helps

rear end nuts

Okay, thats what I wanted to know, because I was thinking of swapping the entire assembly.Someone is giving me this car for free, and I was wondering if there would be any useable parts for my stang.I already have my 8 pot shot,so don't need that.So basically I would have to get the axle assemblies from a mustang.Interesting quiestion, would the ones from the 7.5 fit the 8.8?

thanks guys

We all dont know what we want to know, thats the irony of life.
