hey guys, I am looking to buy the rear hatch shock brackets, the ones screwed in the body side of the car, not the upper hatch. You guys know what I am talking about? Its basically where the shock mounts to the body and keeps the rear glass up. One side is broken. I would like to know if anyone has found them on-line to buy. I tried 50resto.com but cant find them. I work at Ford and we cant even get them as they are to old for us to buy. Has anyone replaced them before and remember a website or anything where I can buy 2? Its a very small piece of metal with a damn ball on the end to hold the shock in place, funny how that little thing hold a heavy a$$ hatch in the air huh?

Well I'm assuming you own a 5.0 even though your screenname is 04-SVT?

I bought some hatch supports from 50resto.com and they failed within two days...but I have heard they have fixed that "failure" problem...

Your talking about the two "strut-type" supports right that clip to the body and the hatch?

Sorry about not specifing about the vehicle its for. Its for my 93 Cobra. I have searched all over 50resto website and cant seem to find the brackets. I dont need the shocks, I bought new shocks. I need the brackets that basically attach the shock to the body. If you raise your hatch, you will notice a bracket attached by 2 screws, the bracket attaches to the shock. I need those brackets.

About my screen name, I choosed 04 SVT, cause I have an 04 SVT Focus at the time, I just recently bought the 93 Cobra. I sold my 03 Cobra to buy the SVT Focus and also buy a 93 Cobra. 2 cars for the price of one

I'm sure someone has a parts car that they could sell you the parts from. Just post a wanted ad in the classifieds. Shoot, if you send me $5 for postage and such, I could probably get you a set on one of my salvage yard trips.

You can go to your local auto zone or auto parts store and picked them up. I got mine from auto zone for about 32 bucks for the both of them.
