I am thinking of purchasing a rear seat delete, but i am wondering, has anyone seen one that has a pocket kind of deal where the lower rear seat was? I think this would be nice to put some tools in, voltmeter etc. for troubleshooting or track purposes.... i would also like one that fits the headrest area over the backseat well without looking funky...

Reason i am doing this is i think i am soon to buy some sport seats, and rear seat delete, to get rid of my heavy ass factory interior

pics of what you have would also be useful..

thanks

There is a guy on Ebay selling kits, I like Mark Lutons kits (www.modularmustangracing.com). You can use the area under the rear seat for tool storage etc..

you don't need storage... without the rear seat there is automatically storage

all a rear seat delete is, is a flat piece of wood with carpeting on it... that's it.

that's why there's storage in there. I relocated my vert pump under there on the right and my cd changer on the left

actually it's usually the other way around

BUT, mine, both fold so i can fit my board through to the trunk and have that stuff under the seat. I also padded the seat and added a single lap belt across so people can sit back there, semi-safely

i don't know how recent the pics i have are, but check my sig, either cardomain or my website

edit: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/548131/6

those are old pics, since then i have padded teh rear seats and added a belt... i'll go snap some more, maybe now, after i eat... buy you kinda get the picture

i dunno if you think it's "ricey" but i REALLY like those rear seat deletes that a few people have been getting with the red plexi glass so you could like light them up... that would be awesome (i'd get blue)

my seats used to be vinyl but i didn't like it so i changed them to the carpety stuff

the only difference is they're a different shape.

vert rear seats are much lighter than the coupe ones.. but that doesn't really matter

backside and latch

hindge (i just put some rubber stoppers and a little carpet there so my board wouldn't get messed up)
http://donjohnii.com/MiscPics/SeatDelete2.jpg

this is the trunkside shot of the plastic insert which i cut and hindged (coupes probably don't even have these)
http://donjohnii.com/MiscPics/SeatDelete3.jpg

by the way, they aren't the best quality, b/c i took them after i washed/waxed the car, and it was dark... if you have any questions or want me to take better pics let me know

My lower seat area folds up, but i haven't carpeted it, we're thinking of using that area for a little nitrous spot in the future.

Mark Lutton's kit is very pricey for what it is. Do yourself a favor and spend the time and $20 or so and do it yourself.
