Does any one know if the back seat from a late model will fit a 65/66 coupe? I would like to put in a back seat in my car but all the old seats cost an arm and a leg.
Really? An ordinary coupe seat should be cheap enough. I'll bet Glazier Nolan could sell you one for not too much more than the cost of the shipping. Now it you were looking for a convertible seat, that would cost you…
I agree, a coupe seat should not cost that much. I think someone on here tried to fit late model Fox Body or SN95 rear seats in a classic and it worked but didn't fit quite right.
There is an old thread where someone put a modern rear seat into a vintage car. The outcome looked great and they matched it with front seats from the same year.
OK, found the 67/68 with the 04 Cobra seats, looks sweet. How much wider is the rear seat in the 67/68 than the earlier ones? Looks like it may fit better in m ine as he had gap issues.
I want a set of 01 Bullitt seats for my 68 so bad that it pains me.
Just think, it would be an easy swap front and rear, be black leather, and has the same stitching pattern as my 68 original seats, it would be so awesome!
From rib to rib at the widest point (top front of the lower seat), my 68 measures 52". Beyond the rib, there is about another 1/2" of padding on both sides for a total of 53". The widest point of the top section (top rear) is 43".
Found a set local for $100. It is perfect condition. This weekend I decided to take the plunge and do this. Broke out the sawz all and cut out the bar in short matter.
