My car has developed a loud banging noise. It happens on fairly large sharp bumps and is worse when the suspension is loaded on the right side (going around a left hand corner). Obviuosly the noise is on the right rear and it sounds almost like metal to metal. I put the car on the lift and tightened everything in sight, but nothing was loose and eveything looks normal. I also checked the top shock mount for looseness and snugged that up. I'm at a loss and about to take the ride to Ford for some warranty repair, but would like to know if anyone out there has had a similar noise and what the fix was.
