Okay so I picked up a convertible rear view mirror today out of an 86 for my 93 since mine didn't have the right one. The one I got has like this black stuff in the mirror that almost looks like mold or something. I tried cleaning it with glass cleaner and it didn't do anything. Does anyone know how to clean this or is it cleanable? I included a picture so you can see what I am talking about.

Unfortunately the convertible rear view mirrors went the way of the dodo & haven't been reproduced as of yet. dcurtis is correct, if you see the black stuff like that, there's nothing to cure it. Good luck in locating a good mirror!

Haha I figured going to a specialty glass shop would cost a hell of a lot more than it would to just get a used one anyway. I have seen some on ebay for about 20 or so and a guy pmed me on here, so I should be alright. I only payed 2 dollars for the mirror anyway lol

cant you just pop the ball fitting off the normal one and attach it to the vert arm?

No, the lights attach to the back of the mirror, which is the whole reason why I want the vert mirror. It had just a regular mirror in it before. The back of the actual mirror is cutout for the lights to fit into and there is screw holes for the lights to attach to it.
