Yes its an 8.8. So you want to swap gears from a 90 to a 94? Its much more involved than just pulling the parts from one and putting into the other. It will need a complete set-up which is a pita for the beginner.

well i was going to do a 5 lug conversion. but i wanted to go to disc brakes in the back. Is there a simpler way than putting in a new rear end???

this is how you go 5lug and keep the rear drums:
5-Lug Coversion Kit - '79-'93 Ford Mustang
this is perhaps more popular, but much more elaborate and has rear discs:
Cobra R Disc Brake Conversion Kit - '79-'93 Ford Mustang

lastly there is the junkyard part swap option too which is out of my expertise of buying expensive stuff and having it professionally installed.

87-88 Turbo Coupe Thunderbird's. Automatics have 3.73's and Manuals have 3.55's. 8.8 inch rear.

i just did the swap a couple weeks ago. Its not too bad. pretty straight forward actually. I am just trying to find a set of rims that have enough backspacing now

it pushes out the wheels .75" on each side.

just pretty much start reading...

93 cobra spindles, calipers, and rotor. it isnt that great of a mod, but its a hug upgrade to the crapy 86 stock brakes. i bought the parts from a guy parting out a 93 cobra a while back

I think it's just the rotors that are diffrent on Cobra's. The spindles and calipers are the same as the GT and LX's.
