My 2.3 took a dump. 1 cyl. not doing squat. Maybe valve/piston troubles. Does anyone know where I can get a rebuild kit???

Just about anywhere, especially if its not a turbo motor. Unless the thing's got a million miles on it, why not just pull it apart and see what you need and go from there? You may end up only needing top end gaskets (head, manifolds, etc) and some headwork. Worst case scenario has you buying pistons.

Does it pop back through the intake or out the exhaust? Does it have excessive crankcase pressure?

I agree with Rust... pull the head off before you order anything, its probably just a blown fire ring. on the headgasket.. if you have more damage then that.. might be time to consider a turbo swap...

Thanks. Im actually debating on even fixing the damn thing. I hate it because it had complete body work & paint done a few months ago & the interior is in good to excellent shape. I really dont have the time to mess around with it & need something to drive NOW.

Are the internals of the engine (valves, pistons, etc.) the same from the early 2.3's with the distributer to the newer 8 plug electronic dis versions?

I know at least the crank is different in the dis cars, its a smaller journel. I think the valves were the same lenth and size but not sure.
