Rebuild subs??

Can you have a sub woofer rebuilt? I have a Kicker L7 that has the voice coils blown and was curious if it is repairable. The spider is all blown apart too. Anyone know?

Yeah, you can send it back to Kicker for repair. But it would be cheaper to buy a whole new one.

I agree, because I had a sub surround replaced that was rotted for about 45.00. that is not worth it. Since your v/c is blown buy a new one, period.

How the hell did you blow a L7? you might consider reconsider your wiring to the amp.

Send it back and see if they replace it. However, and no offense, but kicker is not he best sub out there. Probably one of the worst.

Look to JL, Image Dynamics, etc..

I got this sub for cheap used. Shortly after I blew the spider then the VC.

I have a set of IDQ-10's back in TX that I just need shipped out to me.

No one said it was the best.

But it sure as hell aint the worst either. Can't be a crappy woofer if the one I am using is still pounding after 10+ years.

I highly dissagree.I have seen/had more JL subs that are junk then Kicker.My W6'sdidnt even compare to my L7's.Your opinion sounds a little biased.Have you tried both subs???

i have seen JL's blow up but only with mass amounts of distortion, the new W7 looks good. Have you heard any issues with them yet? I still use my old Pioneer premier's from 2002 and all 6 have never blown up yet

I have sold a few W7s. I wont say their bad, but for the money, you can do better
