Does anyone know how to make the seats recline all the way. My '03 Mach 1 had the same problem but could be solved by drilling out a rivit in the reclining mechanism. Thanks for any help.

That was my first thought. I'm not sure you would gain very much by altering the seat mechanism. Doesn't the seat almost make contact with the back seat fully reclined? Then again I do have my seat as far back as it goes.

I'm a little too old to take chicks out to the parking lot these days, I'd just like the seat to recline all the way so I can nap when I'm in the mood.

I don't recommend sleeping while driving.

Me too. I've taken a nap in my car on my lunch hour for YEARS. My 07 is the first Mustang I've had where I can't get completely comfortable. Oh well.

I'm into lunch hour naps too, though in my '07 Fusion which also only reclines half way. I think it's got something to do with safety, they don't want a passenger flying forward from a horizontal position in an accident. I've taken the seat out of both cars but can't figure out how to remove the access/trim panels on the side where the recline mechanism is. If I could I'd probably be able to fix the thing so it goes back all the way. Then maybe I might consider taking a chick out to the parking lot just for novelty sake.

Have fun with that. I swore that novelty off years ago. As tall as i am it just never seems to work like it does in the movies.

looking at the exploded view, it appears that the side trim is a push in style clip, similar to the A-pillar trim and many other interior trim panels. gently pull on the panel, and it should come off. if you want, i can email you the exploded view so you can see where the clips are at.

I'd appreciate that.

Thanks for the drawings.

I remember taking the seat out last summer and getting no further than pulling/prying on the recline lever trying to get it off. I pulled on it pretty hard and finally gave up because I thought I'd break it. According to your drawings, it looks like it might have a circle/spring clip holding it on. I'll try again when the weather gets better.

Thanks again.
