My Dad took his 99 dodge hunting this past year and went down a bunch of brushy roads. Needless to say the paint really took a beating.

The scratches are not through the clear coat, I can run my fingernail across them and I cannot feel the scratches. It looks like the clear coat is scuffed.

I ran some meguires cleaner wax, then scratch X on it. But It would not take the scratches out. I also tried some turtle wax polish but that crap was poo.

the local parts store has the meguires pro line. I am thinking of giving it a try, along with buying a DA polisher.

any suggestions?

If you are going to be doing it by hand than I would suggest Meguiars #82 swirl free polish but, by machine you would be better off starting with #83 Dual Action Cleaner Polish and then finishing off with #82 by hand.

What DA are you looking at? I would highly suggest the Porter Cable Dual Action Polisher. You can find more information on it at http://www.properautocare.com/porcabpolac.html
