Removing my oilpan on my 65 Mustang; or 64.5

I've been having a heck of a time figuring out how to remove my oilpan on my 65 Mustang; or to technical people 64.5. I got the bolts removed and it just hangs there, it seems as though it's snagged on the backside of the oil pan and I can't figure out the easiest way to get the pan out of there.

PLEASEEE someone help me on what to do. I need to know ASAP.

IF all the bolts are out its time for some leverage.
Its not uncommon for oil pans to become well adhered to the engine block.

Yeah, I would just say its stuck. Get a screw driver and pry around the lip to see if it will come free.

If you are running a main girdle some of them hit the oil pan in the back. I had to message my new 7 quart pan to get it on. Just a thought..

I agree, Use some force to get it of but dont mess it up

did you be sure to get the front bolts that connect the oil pan to the front timing cover .. a lot of times peeople get the ones only connecting to the block and end up with a busted timing cover from prying it.

It might just be hitting on the crank, especially if you're trying to remove it without taking off the crossmember. The pan has to drop down about 4" before you can slide it forward.

I have to take off my crossmember (2 bolts/done) when I drop the oil pan on my 66. There is not enough room for the pan to drop in the rear without removing it.
