removing power steering pump.....

ok if i remove the power steering pump what do i have to do to use the p/s rack without the pump? is it gonna be hard to steer?? i mean like really freaking hard???

also....will it hurt the car???

my buddy did it and im about to... im just finishing my 4cy to 5.0 carbed swap it just like manual steering you'll get used to it i believe he just took the lines and pump off

The manual rack is different than the power rack - while you it's possible to simply disconnect, remove and plug things, I wouldn't do it. Yes it will be very difficult to steer (more so than a standard manual rack), and the power rack was not designed to be used that way. Brakes and steering - two things you want to be sure are working the way they were designed. This is not an area in which to scrimp or take chances.
