Removing rear bumper insert lettering

I am considering removing the "MUSTANG GT" rear bumper insert decals on my '94. They are the "decal" type of inserts and were applied with the typical soapy water method.

I am wondering if anyone else has done this and what did they did to successfully remove them.

Thanks in advance.

not really a big deal, if you have the right tools at hand... first, you need to heat the letters, one at a time with either a heat gun, or, in a pinch, a blow dryer. when you get the first one heated to a point where the bumper cover is warm to the touch, start peeling with a fingernail (you may have to grow them a couple days!) sometimes the area will cool too fast, and you will need to repeat the heating process. when youve gotten all the letters peeled off, saturate a rag with mineral spirits, and use this to remove the adhesive.ive used this method to remove hundreds of vinyl graphics, and, although time consuming, it really does work...

Thanks chromedog.

I was able to peel them off pretty easily. I just got an edge up with my fingernail and simply peeled them right off. Must have been pretty good quality.

Just had to clean up a little wax residue and I was good to go.
