Hey guys, i got some "5.0" style 4.6 badges for the side of the car as part of my attempt to make small yet subtle changes to the car that set it apart form the rest of the GT's out there. Everything on the car is either red, black, or chrome/polished :D
Anyways, i know the GT emblems on the sides aren't just glued on and are attached in some other manner. The 4.6 badges will cover the hole left over.. Should i just use a blowdryer and some floss and yank them off or what? Any expert advice is welcome. Thanks

When I took them off my 01 GT I use a hair dryer and took some fishing line and tied it to a six inch dowel so it made a D shape. Much easier to hold on to and slide through the gunk holding the emblem on.

I wanted to take mine off for a sleeper look, but is there really holes under the emblem and not just glue?

thats what i found out and was very disappointed the pic in my sig is small so you cant see the holes but thats when i was badgeless.

it would cost way too much to have them filled and then the fender repainted so i have 99-04 GT badges on it now.

Dental floss - it's softer than fishing line and less abrasive (of course, i mean it is even comfy on your gums ;)) Use some Bug & Tar remover to remove the excess adhesive, thouroughly clean the area with some cleaner wax or detailer + claybar, then apply new emblem with fresh 3M adhesive.
