I am gonna pull the windshield trim, mirrors, wipers and all the other trim off my 93 vert and repaint them with some trim paint. Any tricks or tips to removing the trim.

Also for those that have repainted the trim how did you go about painting it? i.e. sand it down, how many coats of primer? how many coats of trim paint?

Thanks guys

You remove it by removing a screw in the middle on the top. Then, there is a screw on each corner at the top that is hidden by the weatherstrip. The two top pieces pull straight off. The two pillar pieces roll off, the direction is from the windshield towards the outside of the car. The two plastic pieces on the bottom come off as all other Mustangs - take off the cowl with 6 screws, disconnect the washer line, remove the cowl, then pull the two pieces up at an angle towards the front of the car being careful not to break the tabs.

You paint the trim as you would anything else. I actually painted my windshield trim body color when I painted my vert and I like it much better.

windshield rubber seal

Have an 89 Fox Convertible. Purchased replacement windshield rubber seal- Originals have shrunk in corners, and have become hard. Is this a simple pull out, and press in new? Is sealant required/suggested?
