and a few more...I couldn't get the hood open as the Repo Company got it w/out the key. So I wasn't able to verify if ti had a S/C or not, although it did have the Heat Extractor Hood. So who know??

Interesting but, what is the point of your post? I notice the 42 looks crooked, perhaps a clone? Do you want us to comment on its saleability? Where is it? Is there a link for others who might be interested?

I apologize for the incomplete post. I wondered if someone could give me a figure of it's value, based on the condition, year, and some brief history on the car?? From the looks of it, it isn't a clone but like I said in my previous post, I wasn't able to get the hood open to determine if it is a S/C or not. Any ideas?

I would not pay more than $10k-$12k for the car, I bet it has been thrashed by looking at the pictures.

I'd say it isn't supercharged as it doesn't have the additional gauges. It is a 99 or 00, not sure.

I'm with Bart on this one. 10-12 at the most. You take a big chance in buying it.

Scott,

Don't try to discourage him. We all know it matches exactly all the cars you have now except the R.

I'm just not a fan of the mod motor cars. The only one I want to ad to my collection is a 2000 R-model.

I agree with you. You know there is a guy with a decent price on Corral for sale. He's a couple of hours from me. I'd love to buy it but I don't know if I would enjoy it as much if I had to take the chin off to drive it around town. Can't stand the wing either.

I just want one to stash away! Like the 99 it wouldn't be driven very mcuh. The 96 is my driver out of the collection for now and I don't really drive it that much. It has right at 20k on it now. Even so I need to take her off the road and freshen up some things.

I've driven alot of late model Cobras and haven't been very impressed with them. They just didn't have the seat of the pants feel to them. I grew up driving 428 and 429 Mustangs. I just recently sold my last 429scj car.

I know all you Saleen experts out there already knew this car is a 2000!! In the Registry this car came with the following Saleen options: 3:55 Gears, speedster Edition car, Saleen Hood, Chrome Wheels, & Black top! Color checks out for that car also (LaserRed Clearcoat!) My guess is definately for this stang being a real Saleen, but a pretty beat up Saleen from the looks of some of the posted pictures!!!

gonen20, trust me this car is plenty beat up, clear coat is peeling all over this car, curb rash and chips all over the wheels, interior looks like a hurricane threw up in there, convertable top is torn, and the customer did not leave the key handy so we are having one cut to see if the motor even fires up. Right now dealer is asking payoff which is $13,500.00...IMHO, that is way too high for this beat up Saleen.

If the top is cut figure $1000 to get a quality job done replacing it. The description lowers my estimate considerably. $7500 max

Aaww, come on now. A nice cloth top installed will only run about $600-700. $1000 is a bit much. I still wouldn't buy it though. It looks to me like the person beat the crap out of it, knowing they were going to loose it...

Remember these cars have an Electronic key. You have to buy one from Ford and have it programmed. If you just cut a key it will fit and turn the lock, but nothing will happen. The theft prevention system will prevent it from turning over.

there is a sequence of steps to take to get a computer to accept the key, you can probably find it on the net. programming keys/remotes isnt hard.

its just somethingn like...insert key and remove 3 times, turn key twice, unlock lock doors twice, insert key, remove, turn two clicks, then back two...your set!
