So Im driving along in my Stang, windows up and a/c on, enjoying a burger on the way to pick up my girlfriend. Its a nice slow drive when this roaring thunder pulls up along side me out of no where and tries to get me to race. Its an S281 with some young kid behind the wheel getting all crazy, speeding up and slowing down and just inches away from my car.

Now Im in no mood to race anyone or anything, besides the fact that its a Saleen and all I have is a stock 5.0 w/ some 3.73s, all im trying to do is enjoy a little cruise. Finally we catch up to traffic and hes forced to get behind me. Atleast he is kind enough to signal right as he gets behind me, however, looking in my rearview mirror I notice he accidentally turned on his wipers in the process. I glance long enough in the mirror to catch a glimpse of the surprised look on his face and I have a little laugh.

So now Im turning right on an empty 3 lane street and this kid jumps back out on my left and starts at it again. If by now he hasnt gotten that Im not gonna race I dont know what to do. So with a smirk on my face I turn on my wipers and I leave them on long enough for him to see. As soon as he saw my wipers going off he gets this pissed off look on his face and starts yelling something and starts revving his engine while making all these hand gestures at me and gets even closer than before.

This continues for about half a mile until I finally come up to my girlfriends work and turn off the street. That was the first time someone else in a Mustang pulled some crazy s*** like that with me. He had gotten so close to my car that if I had my window down, I could have reached out and unlocked the passenger door, and maybe given him a slap or two. Things like that have happened with a couple of ricers but never a fellow Stang. Every time I cross paths with another GT on the street there is usually a simple peace wave or the nod indicating "good race man", then we go our separate ways. I have nothing but respect for anyone else who drives and shares the passion for Mustangs, but I hope someday he wraps that Saleen around a telephone pole. All I can think is that he was just a young punk driving dads car and doesnt know jack about being on the street. Had he caught me in a bad mood who knows what would have happened. Although I know I probably antagonized him by turning on my wipers, we had already driven a little more than a 1/4 mile so he should have known just to back off. So whenever you run into another Mustang, give a friendly "whats up" to the driver. Maybe the respect will rub off and we'll all be a friendly nation of roaming stallions, of course with the occasional stampede.

Yeh i have met my fair share of retared stangers. But that was a bad deal. Usually if i see someone i want to run and i get next to them and goose it a few times, if they dont wanna go then ill just give em a friendly nod and go about my buisness.

Im just soooo over people who want to "race" by driving crazy and weaving through traffic on the freeway. I will only run someone if its wide open and we start from like 65-70mph.

I'm glad to see you didn't race him. I thought as I started reading this that is was a street racing thread and I'd have to lock it, but I'm glad to know that I don't have to because at least you had the sense to let this idiot go.

WTG man, you get a from me!

You handled yourself well.....the wiper stunt was funny and nothing wrong with that......tell him to take it to the track. I washed the Stang today at the car wash and today and pulled out and a Volvo with tags that said "much luv" pulls up behind me flying and whips around rev'n up......I looked over and smiled and waved him by......not worth the tickets or the safety.....and yeah there are some fellow Stanger's in my town that don't know how to act either......you have to teach them "Yoda"....lol

LMAO @ the wipers. That is ****ing hilarious!

I too have had my share of idiots, but mostly ricers. I don't race on the street anymore, kinda grew smarter and more mature if you know what I mean. I drive in the right lane like a grandma. Keeps the engine strong.

i haven't raced anything on street in over 3 years now. I'm glad you made the right decision. you can always do the slamming on your brakes thing, let him look like an ass by flying in front of you. but make sure there is no one behind you first

You did the right thing and pretty much ignore the idiot. People like this are stupid enough to actually run into your car. I used to have a video camera in my car for stupid drivers like that. Pull the camera out and all the sudden they back waaaay off.

One time I was in the middle lane and a trucker decided to drive as if he was goingto drive over my car and got withjin inches and stayed on me. I rolled down the window, stuck the camera out and begain filming. He backed WAAAAAYYYYY off real fast. Then got in the passing lane and went around me and waved as if everything was ok. JERK!! If you have a lot of nutty drivers like this then just film them. In MD you could have filed an assault charge on the guy and it carries 10yrs in prison and or $5,000 fine. There is no excuse for idiots like this endangering other people lives.
