Yes, on my 91 GT. I removed the metals strips (not an easy task, you need a heat gun) and laid them flat on the garage floor, they flatten out by themselves that way.
The hardest part is painting them off the car, then reinstalling them without cracking the paint from bending. They are pretty darn flexible and will flop around quite a bit. Definitely best done with a helper or two.
I was not able to reuse the ones that came on my used doors for my Cobra clone project, but only because they had the factory stripe inset and I didn’t realize they weren’t removable.
I did not enjoy working with the repops from Lmr, although they worked and came out okay.
EDIT: The metal strips will likely be destroyed in the removal process, and once they are bent they have to be removed.
