I have stopped watching the Nascar version of football. IT seems pointless now to watch ever since the latest round of changes. The pacecar choice really has some meaning doesn't it? I mean they picked the one American holiday when we celibrate all of our fallen soilders and the retired ones as well. Seems more like a political statement than anything (or Toyota paid off the money hungry chairman)
i hate crapcar now... first its the winston that goes.. and now its toyota coming in.. as well as taking out the tauros.. one of the best running bodys ford's had.. and DJ has been my hero for 16 years.. all my life.. i've puleld for him every race.. and when i raced sprints.. i ran under his number for the whole time.. him becoming a driver for toyota is treason to every thing that my southern ass stands for.. this is the last season im watchin it.. those damn corporate yankees has ruined it.. because they tried to bring a SOUTHERN sport into the yankee citys.. and closing darlington.. i just cant believe it...... its sad.. damn corporate executives has to take everything that the south has left..
I am complaining. The problem with Toyota is that all of the money spent on the cars and products is sent back to Japan in the end. Sure they build cars here. We build cars there, but that money is funneled all the way back to the american economy. Regardless of our views however, I choose not to watch anymore for "personal reasons"
Toyota's goal is to trully take Ford and GM out of the picture in America and they have almost done that......I am afraid....that one day not even my kids but myself might only be able to buy a new car from Japan because there are no American Car Companies....I am a person who always vowed to buy a Ford but I'll buy a GM as long as its American.......I am already afraid of what Japan and China are gonna do to us....people dont realize it but they basically control us........they manufactor almost everything

I thought I was the only one upset with toyota coming in. I still can't get over DJ going with those ricers next year. What are they going to bring next eclipses and preludes? Where does this garbage end? Nascar has always been about domestics (Ford, Chevy, Dodge) and now they are ruining it by bringing in the ricers.

Yes toyota is a japanese company and in the end the profit does go back over to japan. But at the sametime they put a ton of money into this country and provide a lot of jobs for american and canadian citizens. Whats ford and GM doing on the other hand, well they are firing people, closing plants, and having more vehicles built down in mexico which in turn take more jobs away from americans.

I still don't understand why no one doesn't get all mad about chrysler/dodge. In the long run their profit goes back to germany. Whats the difference between them and toyota?

I'm not all thrilled about NASCAR anyway since they went away from STOCK cars and all run tube-frame chassis cars with non-manufacturer built motors. WHat happened to the good ole days of Mustangs racing challengers and such? Instead we have Fusions racing Camry's. I don't even know why they bother with designating the car make. How many 800HP RWD Fusions do you know of? I wonder how many people watching NASCAR say "Wow, did you see that Fusion pass that Camry? I'm gonna go buy myself one tomorrow!"
