im looking to get the Cobra R motorsport rims. only thing is im stuck on which size to get. Right now my car is gonna be a show car but later on (in the next year or two) im planning on switching the engine and puttin in something to race with. so for show i was thinkin aboiut getting the 18x9. but then again later on im sure i would have appreciated haveing gotten the 17x9 for the front and 17x10.5 in the rear.

basically my question is what do you think i should get the 17" or the 18's i like being able to say 'ya i got 18' mainly cause they look nicer but then again the 17x10.5 would be alot better traction and less slipage. so please let me know what you guys would do. thanks

heres a pic of the rim

Fake Chrome Cobra Rs? Go for it, but you'll see them everywhere. If you wanna fit in, you will. If you wanna stand apart from the average joe, wrong rims.

17"
Less $ for the rim, less $ for the tire, better traction, blah blah blah

18" would look like maybe 5% better than 17"

i agree w/ DavidCroft ! if you get the cobra r rims you can be like everyone else w/ cobra r rims. try something new light and rare. something you can take pride in having one of only a hand full of sets on a mustang, like i did. i don't think i will ever see another set of the rims i have on another mustang.

hottest rims IMO for our year stang (99-04) is the 18" chrome Saleen rims.. or the overpriced steeda ultralites. and yes i would go with 18's

way too expensive for rims with a boring finish IMO. nice selection though.

you have to look at the rmc finnish that i got. in the 57 pro lineup. also when purchasing wheels you get what you pay for and if you want a cheap wheel spend cheap money. if people are judging a shoe your in do want to have the car w/ $100 dollar tirerack.com wheels or the car w/ rare functional wheels. also chrome is cool but heavy and if you are going to race this car in the future you might want to think about that. big purchase take your time and do it once!
