well, the 4.10's will help you accellerate and get into the powerband quicker, but then traction could become an issue in the twisties. whats the track like?
Its great. I love it but last weekend i was a Willow springs raceway and this damn 96 cobra was one my ass. I would work him through the turns but the he would start closing the gap. I need geard for acceleration but i dont want my damn powerband to totally change and me having to use 4th. I was thinging 3.73's would be the best but i want some more input
4.10's definetly they are awesome!! If you are at the track you would want to be in your powerband more! Right to get better response and its not like your making 400 horse!!
if your going to be running at buttonwillow(big track).willow springs, or pahrump you will want to run 3:73's. 4:10's are not a good road course gear. You will see most guys running 3:73's and in some cases 3:55's
p.s. take 2 seconds and update you sig, and If you want to be even faster, ditch those sportlines
It totally depends on the type of track your running. A track with more turns per mile will require higher gearing, and lower gearing for the tracks with bigger straights.. You want gearing to put the car in just the right powerband in any particular gear when exiting a turn. If you have too low of gearing entering the turn, then you'll bog coming out, but if you have too high of gearing, then you might need to shift before you straighten the car out and that might put you into a spin.
Another vote for 3.73's, on the south east tracks anyway, if we were to use 4.10's with 25.7" tall tires we would run out of rpm's in 4th. Shifting to 5th with the .63 OD puts it too low in the power band to pull good so 5th is useless. I don't know much about the west coast tracks as the only place I've ran out there is Holtville but I imagine the bigger tracks you might run out of gear with 4.10's.
