Road Trip Question

I need some advice on traveling long distance in my 98 standard v6 3.8ltr. I drove it to NY from AR last week and now I'm on my way home to AR. My question is, how long can I keep the Rpms at or above 2000 in 5th gear before it's bad for my car?

i would guess about 5,000 miles!
