Entertainment for the sake of being amused is the problem. It's why there is a series of insults to a car guy w/ a brain that they call Fast and Furious.
I have better things to do with my time,..and none of them involve watching them create a death trap like that Caprice.

Impala-
I imagine,the drivetrain will find aNew home elsewhere,like the Camaro it was in before,or what ever body they choose after,and the impala that was two tires in the crusher before the big block swap-will ultimately find its way back to the crusher :p

Edit: It's not my intent to change your mind. If a Blown 600HP sht box impala doing burnouts until the tire falls off does not entertain you , then it doesn't entertain you. Different strokes for different folks, there's more than enough stuff for you to ignore me for-we will just add this to the list :D

And that brings me back around to why then? I thought the premise was to sell the car on ebay when they were through phcking it up?

No real rhyme or reason-purely entertainment is what I'm going with..For the most part,they usually keep them,and use them again in different events,shows. I know they have sold a few off,but not the norm (for that show anyways lol.)

Dude,...I have over a quarter of a million page views on a fairmont build. How is it that one old guy building up a less than popular bodystyle on a relatively obscure web forum, in an equally "niched" portion of that web forum (the fox section) can garner 1/4 million page views?

In the style of Roadkill, What if I had just thrown a Chinese turbo on the existing 1bbl'd 3.3 L in there and left it at that? It all ran when I got it home. I'd be driving the thing years ago.
How much more interesting would that 1 month build have been?

Maybe I am...a car snob.

Maybe if they just did that the show would make sense. Maybe if they just saved a neglected or unpopular bodystyle, gave it some notoriety when they bought it put it on ebay, then along the way, do what they do for diversion all while offering up artist conceptions as to how cool it could be as an "inspiration" for that car that'd be different.

How can you have such a terribly negative opinion toward something when you have absofawkinglutely no clue whatsofawkingever about it? It's obvious you've never watched it, because every comment you've made about the show so far in this thread- in all actuality- could not be further from the truth!

They don't build each car with the sole plan of f-ing it up, then selling on ebay. Most they keep, the vast majority in fact. The rat jeep they sold, they flew to El Paso after throwing a dart at a map with $1500 and bought a beater to driver back to CA with the intention of selling it.. which was a pretty good episode, btw... but that's about it man. Fixing a turd to sell is NOT the premise, Mike. You should really not make uneducated comments. The results are less than flattering for you.

They picked a fb follower, bought a gm wagon, buick or olds I don't recall drove it to ohio I think it was, on the way found/swapped all four doors because there was no windows in the originals, did a front disc brake conversion and I think they did a bolt on fuel injection system on that one too. They where gonna swap it for another car but found it to be too 'nice' and just gave the kid the car.

You gotta like stubby bob, come on.

I've watched 3 episodes actually.
The one as you've described it, (which was exactly as I've described it) and the one where they went to Australia, Parts of several others where there were building Blasphemi,.and minutes here and there as you would watching anything on You tube...

Call it what you will,...It's watching grown men doing "here, hold ma beer" dumbassed stunts like the impala build that you linked...All that's missing would be a fail when you throw a BBC into a non-prepped chassis and then drag race it, And that almost happened at the big end of their "track".

You've drag raced a car before. If you were in the other lane at a real strip you wouldn't put your calypso car anywher near that mess and you know it....so again...who does this sht,..and why, other than they're one step away from the surrounded by idiots thread do they think it's entertainment?.

Firstly,..lets set the record straight. If we were all over at the same garage/shop this morning, and got into this "discussion" that's all it'd be. Me and Allen goin at it w/ a smile on our faces to let the others know that we were just messin' with each other despite the rhetoric.
I don't care if you guys watch that show anymore than I care if you watch football. I don't watch either. Commensurately, I don't hold it against you. What you do, what you watch, and what you think is cool is your business.

It used to be the same in the shop where half of my race cars were built. I could've built them in my garage just the same, but I wanted the camaraderie. The shop owner and I would go at it on every topic and the guys that hung around thought we were gonna kill each other. But come lunch time,..we'd all pile in his truck and all go together like another day at the office.

Some of you have seen this vid before,.I didn't do it, It's done by the guy that drives the rambler in the vid that follows mine.Alot of the pics are exactly the same, but it'll give you an idea of what hanging around me is like. When you get to the end where Mikes body shop is shown, you'll have a little insight into how most of those conversations typically ended up.
