If I have pedistal mounted rocker arms, am I going to have a problem getting a bigger cam? I know I have piston to valve clearance but could I run into problems with these rocker arms?
I have ford racing 1.6 pedestal mounts on modified heads with a comp cam at .550 lift on intake and .575 lift on exaust in stock 88 bottom end with comp 986 valve springs and hardened pushrods. I have no problems but I had to do some shimming to get them perfect.
How much bigger? Which pedestal rockers? Stock stamped or roller?
I have a Crane Powermax 2031 roller cam with Crane '93 Cobra-style pedestal roller rockers(1.7s) and it's no sweat for them. The profile is .513/.529" with 214/220° @ .050".
