rocker problem??

Car was running bad so I pulled the valve covers off and one of my rockers was just sitting there on the bottom of the head??? They said I don't, but do I possibly need to shim my HP blower cams??? This is the second time this happened.....Should the rockers have a bit of play when they are on the base circle of the cam or should they always be tight???

they should have a preload on them at base circle. either the cams are ground to small or you could have a oiling or lifter problem, or possibly a sticking valve.

From what I've read, you can pop a rocker off when you over rev. What is your rev. limiter set at. Might want to consider changing it.

my rev. limit is at 6500....I didn't think that was a prob....I have some shims on the way for my lifters/lash adjusters...thought I would try those...
