Ok here it is i'm building a 347 stroker, does the connecting rod have to go into the piston a certain way, like does it matter which way you connect it to the wrist pin? all i see is the bearing retainers on one side of it so do they need to be on a certain side? any info will help...

There should be a fillet on the big end of the rod that will run along the radius in the crank. The side that does not have the fillet will back up against the other rod.

Hope that made sense.

he is talking about the beveled edges on the crank end of the rods. the flat edges butt up against the other flat surface on the rod. the beveled egde faces the counterweights of the crank. of course you know which way the pistons face right. the notch on the top will face the front of the engine.

Pass side all the chamfers face forward towards the front of the engine. Drivers side all of the chamfers face the back of the engine. The pistons go in with the reliefs towards the lifter valley. Hope this helps.
