I have a faint knock that seems to be common in 4.6s my motor is 155k on it and runs very well. im going to pull the pan to inspect. has anyone caught a spun rod in time.

Removing the engine isn't too difficult of a task (can be done in a driveway/garage) and you should replace all bearings once inside.
