Hey guys,

I have an S&W 8point cage in the car and just got the 10 point conversion kit with a thru the dash front bars. I started to take the dash out and am seeing there is not a good strait thru shot in there. I have full HVAC controls in with a/c and was wondering if anyone has done this install before and what you had/have to trim to get it to fit?

This is the 92 hatch and the rest of the interior is out right now.

Thanks!

What I did with the front bars that go through the dash was to remove the dash speakers. On the drivers side I moved the fuse box over so the bar could fit. Also there where some kind of dash support bars on that side that I took out as well. Later I just got rid of the factory dash all together. I had already deleted the heat & AC before the cage so cant help ya there sorry.

Thanks, I was able to move the fuse box, I wasn't sure about that support thing, so I will pop that out. What I did with the blower box was to remove the front 1/2 that covers the blower cage, that gives me plenty of room for the bar, now I will just have to fab up a cover for that and all should drop right in. I am also going to have to use some flexible ducting for the vents.

Thanks again!

fford, make sure to check access to your computer. When I did my dash bars thru the speakers they ended up blocking the computer. I used velcro to attach it to the heater box. Mike

90 lx convert,

good call. I will make sure to have access to that. On first look it seemed like it would be alright, but it might be tight.

Thanks
