no, there was a thread on this recently where a guy lost some power, the heads dont flow enough, and neither does the stock intake imo

Kinda depends on the ratio you are thinking of. I have heard that 1.7 rr on a stock motor makes torque.

yea same here the 1.7's add but i do believe the 1.6's are no gain or minus

i would bet 5$ that with a stock intake choking your motor by only flowing 150cfm max that adding 1.7 roller rocker would actually lose power across the board, i guess you might gain some lower oil temps though..............

The stock intake flows more then enough for what i have... The lower has a few restrictive runners.. I was thinking 1:7s

get em. i have a stock ported intake(upper matched to lower from tmoss), exhaust bump removed from the heads, stock T/B, and I feel the engine running and sounding stonger with 1.7's installed. getting a new TB soon so that should help it out alot im hoping.

the stockers are supposed to be 1.6, but they are rarely that exact(can be 1.58-1.62...). i'd figure that the 1.6 rockers would maybe smooth out the power curve a tiny bit, and maybe, maybe add a horse or two. the 1.7's i bet would free up a few more horses, and unleash some good torque too. i say it's worth it, even to just have them around, for later upgrades.

This person hit it on the head, though I have heard of variations even exceeding this. Your car will not see a huge power improvement, but it will "run better", and at least you have some good groundwork for future modifications.

If you buy them now for later you gotta decide to get stud mounted or not. Aftermarket heads or not. RRs are not bad by any means but money spent on something more immediate would be more usefull because RRs aren't going to go anywhere anytime soon. Just purchase them later and put the money towards something that will help now. Just my opinion. The gains don't quite justify the cost untill you have the supporting hardware to put them to good use. Talk to Tmoss and have your intake ported. That would be a good start on a budget.

Roller rockers, when compared to stock stamped sled-type fulcrum rocker arms, will reduce oil temperature because the temperature at the fulcrum with a roller rocker (roller bearing) will be about 300 deg. F lower than a stock sled type fulcrum rocker.

the RRs will make the valve lift more consistant. also less friction
if you got heads first you wouldnt really want to use the steel stamped stock rockers on them would you?

i say get 1.7s, will work well with stock cam and heads and will work well with an aftermarket setup also.
