I have a 99 conv. The rpm's instead of falling between gears stays high but will eventually fall. They will also stay high, in the 1300 to 1500 range, when pulling up to a stop. It will fall to idle but only after 10-15 seconds. Any ideas on what would cause this and where to look?
There are "mods" that you can do to help ease the rpm hang. You can make holes smaller in iac by installing a restrictor plate, smaller holes. Do a search on here for a how to or you can just buy a pre made plate
I had one on my Cobra but took it off because with ac on and came to a stop the rpm's dropped to fast and car stalled. But as Mr. Rustypwnz said, it's normal
