I had new tires put on the '91 convertible last night. It had been running really well since the EGR valve was replaced. The tire guys drove it into the bay, put it on a lift, and replaced the tires. When they were done, they asked me if there was some trick to starting the car. It absolutely would not start. It turned over just fine, and acted like it wanted to fire, but nothing. Checked for loose wires in the engine bay but didn't see anything obvious. My first thought was that they crushed a fuel line with the lift, but I couldn't find any evidence of damage. I think the fuel pump must have failed.
