Finally got it tuned yesterday. It was on a Mustang dyno, but they also ran it in "dyno jet mode".

It made 415hp/400tq in MD mode, with at least 390wtq from 3k to 5500 :nice:

In dynojet mode it made 500/475, but I dont trust that completely. I'm going to get a couple passes in a couple weeks or month on a regular dyno to back it up. The tuner said that a 383CI Trans Am only pulled 380rwhp/375rwtq, and that car has gone 11.4's @ 120mph, so I'd assume i'll be a touch faster.

The car is making 11-12psi, and is running even smoother than before.Too bad its snowing, or else I'd be at the track right now. :notnice:

What cam are you running? Sounds like a fun street car for sure!

Its a Crower cam, designed for blower cars. not sure on the specs, since the previous owner did it. Its obviously working, since the tq curve is awesome and there is no hp drop off all the way to 6k.

What block?

Yeah post up times when you get them

Its a Ford Sportsman block, so only a *tiny* bit stronger than stock. And for sure i'll post up times, but I need to get used to the new power, and plus its still SNOWING here!!!:bang:

I would expect to see more out of the 347. We have/had guys here with a Blower/h/c/i combo well over 400 with the stock 302.

I would NOT extrapolate the 380hp and the times to a blower car.. A 380HP N/A motor can be a pretty nasty car.
Let us know of more updates.

Like I said, it was on a mustang dyno. They typically run 10-20% lower numbers than the standard Dynojet. Just for sake of argument I plan on just getting a couple passes on a Dynojet to see what it makes, to compare against other people. But, trap speeds are the real test of power.

And I know you cant compare two cars like that, but most LS1's with that amount of displacement and mods put down in the mid 400's. He put down like 380. He still ran the times he should have with the mods, which is what I'm hoping I do.

KEEP us posted with any more updates...The discrepancy between the two dyno's seems a bit high.

Good Luck!!

my car made 394hp 411lb/ft at about 10psi with the stock bottom end, gt40x heads, tfs 1 cam, and gt40 intake. the one thing i will say though, the powerband im sure comes on much lower than the 302 considering the extra cubes.

"352hp/360ish " = n/a 347ci

So he has a blower and is putting out 415rwhp. That is ALOT more power than your buddies 347 n/a. If you don't think going from 350-415rwhp is a big difference y'all must be carazy! lol. :jaw:

Plus, there are a lot of cars out there with an unsafe tune running higher numbers but I always put safety first and never had an issue.

it was on a mustang dyno. i was honestly amazed by the numbers. i would have expected output like that from a dynojet with the mods the car had. i think you definitely have another 30-40 more hp in there to achieve with the tune.

Do you have any track numbers? I really could care less how much power it makes. They said I should be able to pull 120-125mph (based on what other ppl have ran on their dyno with similar power output), which would mean low-mid 11's, which IMO is fast as hell for a street gas pump car that I would have no fear in driving across the country.

Honestly I really just benchmarked the new Z06 for power & speed. I knwo I wont see its top speed, but they run mid 11's @ 123ish, so if I can run that number it'll be great to be next to one and not worry about it blowing me out. :nice:

Plus most typical 03 Cobra's dont run deep into the 11's, and it takes most LS1's a bunch of mods to run that also, so I'm sure I wont find TOO many cars that will blow me away.

Whatever, its all BS until I actually get it to the track.

edit: Also you guys gotta remember that I'm 8.5:1 compression, and 11psi is not yet maxing out the shortblock. The plan is to run 11's this year, next year up the boost to ~15-16psi and see if I can keep the rings/valvles in shape (it has a lil blowby right now, not sure if its valve seal or rings, has good compression). Then spring of 2009 do a cleanup bore, re-do the valves and hopefully get another 50k out of the engine.

the car has never been to the track.
