My gray on gray 88 fox could use some love in the seat department. Found a local guy selling a set of S197 red leather seats. I always loved the look of read leather and love the S197 seats.

I'd like to get your thoughts if you think the red seats would go well with the gray interior? I think they would complement the gray outside and gray inside. Agree/disagree?

Pics of the actual seats for sale below. He is asking $400, which I think is a great price for the immaculate condition....

Thanks for your thoughts/feedback!

Not sure how red and grey would look. I'm thinking it won't look so great.

A guy did do red seats in a complete black interior. I thought that looked awesome.

I think red and grey work perfectly together,....you may have to add some other red accent to tie it in,..I wouldn't hesitate to do it, provided that you can make the rear seats work too.

Thanks for the feedback. @madmike1157, agree that the back seat will be a challenge. I have seen some ideas from sn95 back seat conversations that I might leverage, but I think I may try something new. My fall back will be to use the s197 bottom cover to recover the fox bottom seat. I know I can make the top part work.

Just found out the entire black GT premium interior is for sale...do this might turn into a full s197 conversation fabrication project!

That would be interesting for sure. I think it would be more difficult than an SN95 interior swap as at least the SN95 is the same chassis technically.

Agree... It will be a challenge for sure. I'm tossing around the idea of leveraging a hardened expanding foam material to allow the non, confirming parts to fit tighter in the fox.

baskin Robbins makes 31 flavors but I agree on the red with the grey. I've have to see it in person.

Those are really nice seats, and only for $400!

I think it would be pretty neat. I agree with Mike about adding some other sort of red accent.

I heard the firewall is the PITA for doing a S197 swap.

These would add a nice accent of red....but they are almost $600! Lol....more than the seats....

Good idea though.

Well it's a done deal! I snagged them for $380

I'll do a right up on the install and share as I go.
