Saleen Superchargers

Can someone tell me the difference between the Saleen series II and series VI superchargers? Saleen offers no details on the site I can find. Thanks

II is a roots blower. IV is a twin screw.

Jay is correct. Series II is a roots style where the IV is a twins screw.

Roots vs. twinscrew has been discussed about 90 billion times. If you do a search, you are going to find a wealth of information.

Both setups use the same intake and intercooler.

Both setups use 30# injectors

The series IV uses an aluminum intake tube (tb) while the Series II uses a plastic one.

Both have heat exchangers and a water pump.

Both styles are pretty much bullet proof and will give long life.

BTW - You need to change oil on the series IV where the II is self contained.

Power output is low on both of them due to intake and intercooler design. It can be fixed but requires some cash to do it.

There is no series VI - are you talking about the IV or V.

The KB from what I've seen is a better designed unit and has more potential.

It all comes down to the intake design........KB's is just plain better. Their numbers reflect it.

Tjm01, I have the series II and Saleen reccomends the oil in the S/C be changed every 15,000 miles and that's what I do. Am I doing some thing wrong?

Saleen Tech Rep said the Series IV lube should be checked every 4K miles and changed out every 50K miles.

The main difference between the two in on the intake design. The KB design is more efficient by far and the numbers can show it.
