In the midst of the thunderstorms yesterday, I got a 31 spline 8.8 axle from an explorer in a junkyard for $50. Did not get the 3.73 gears I wanted, because I could not get a brake rotor off. Get them next trip.
Went back today and got the pinion gear and an Explorer 302.
