I was planning on getting my car tuned by PSI motorsports. I know the guys there and they are REALLY good with mustangs, and I completely trust them with my car. My question about the chip is this. I know when they tune, they use the dyno, Does this mean my car will only be tuned for WOT and not for partial throttle too? sorry if this is a stupid question, Ive just never asked them before, and its easier to ask you guys. They use SCT chips, thats really all I know. Thanks guys!

It will most likely be tuned for peak. When I got my custom burned Autologic chip it was pretty crappy all around until WOT. It does turn the fans on at 150 degrees though. Why not a PMS or Tweecer and tune it yourself on a dyno? Or have a tuner do it on a dyno. We have shops around here who tune with both of these.

Well the tuner would be doing it on a dyno. They custom burn the chips there. He said he could take out the egr, the pulling of timing between shifts, and things like that. Im just wondering if its only going to be optimized for WOT only.

Do they temporarily install a wideband in your car?

Yea, they will use a wideband. Only problem I've found with custom chips is later if you do something the chip could be obsolete. Now you've spent over $500 and then another $150 for a reburn. This is why most of us get a tuning device and learn to do it ourselves. What I was saying in first reply is many of the tuners around here can tune with a PMS or Tweecer on their dyno. Meaning they make the changes for all around driveability then later when you make changes you compensate for them.

Grady, thanks for the heads up. I already contacted Don. The only problem is I dont know if my shop does everything that he does (considering he literally wrote the book on SCT tuning...).

Have you thought about getting the SCT Pro Racer Package and a wideband?

There's also 2nd Street Speed in Perkasie that I've heard good things about, and JDs High Performance in Huntingdon Valley. I took my car to JDs, and they did a good job, just a little pricey though.
