Just seems most sct tunes I've heard of are with mustang dyno's.
Do you think with the loading capabilty of the mustang that tuning the a/f would be better or not?

A Mustang dyno is a good tool for tuning the engine. However the a/f ratio shouldn't be different on a mustang dyno verse a dynojet per say. Granted there could be a variance among their choice of wideband.

im not too well versed in the art of dyno tuning. but there are a few guys on here that have performed 1000's and im sure they will answer any questions and what they prefer and their opinions on the matter. just keep this one on the top or you could go to another forum that a tuner shop hosts and they will chime in pretty quick.

as long as your engine sees more than 80% load on the dyno, you're a/f ratio will be correct on the street unless you have a torque convertor with a high stall. then it needs to be tuned on the street as well.

SCT Encourages the use of load type dynos like Mustang dynos, but I'd wager the vast majority of tunes by SCT dealers are done on Dynojets - we use a Mustang dyno at one place and a Dynojet at another. Personally, I prefer a Dynojet mainly because the dyno software is so much better and the printouts are much nicer.

The problem with either is usually asscoiated with turbo vehicles - you rarely can get full boost on a turbo car mainly because neither loads it quite like the street does - a mUstang dyno is better for this, but still not perfect - that's why you can tune it on the dyno, but you should check it on the street. As long as the MAF isn't close to pegging the dynotune will be 99% close to the street tune numbers, but not always. If the MAF on a turbo car is close to pegging on the dyno, it'll probably peg on the street. So if you have a turbo car, you should request the tuner do at least a 2nd gear romp on the street with the wideband and logger on the car.

The reason I ask is I just got a sct tune on a mustang md1750se dyno, results 320.2 rwhp and 327.8 rwtq. Since it was on a mustang dyno and not a dynojet, I feel I have no bragging rights. The tuner told me my numbers would probably fall within 2-3% of a dynojets #'s. If this is so, I wouldn't have to pay to have 3 pulls on a dynojet just to feed my ego.
