they make 'em

http://www.superchips.com/html/products/ford/cars.htm

and off that page you can use the "dealers" link to find one you prefer. I'm still trying to figure out if they can pull diag codes. ??

(I assume SCT means SuperChips Tuner)

Take care,
Ceyko

First of all, SCT isn't superchips.

Second, i would visit www.modulardepot.com, they not only sell them, but they have a couple of the SCT guys on the boards. (go by the names of SCT Guy 1, SCT Guy 2, etc). Here is thier dedicated Software board for SCT...
http://forums.modulardepot.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=31

Here is the MD.com store with the products:
http://www.modulardepot.com/index.php?cPath=21

I dont have the tuning package (so i can tune my own car) yet, but i do have thier tune and 4 position chip. You are able to change between tunes on the fly.

Ohh, and BTW, i have a 97 GT, click sig for info.

Please educate a noob as to what it is then. Thought it was Superchips Custom Tuner. Is there a difference? Is it totally a different product? Not trying to be snotty, just want to know.

hmmm... good question. There is a thread on Modular Depot asking about tuning software for Diesels, and somehwere in the thread a guy that worked for SCT said that superchips and SCT were not the same thing. Here is the thread:
http://forums.modulardepot.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=41266

BUT he provided a link: http://www.sctflash.com/

As you can clearly see, right below the big SCT it says Superchips Custom Tuning

So to answer your question, i dont know. I will PM him.

Speculation - The links you provided look like they are for a device that is much more advanced then the programmer by superchips. Maybe same company, just different hardware? Instead of a handheld hardware (like I was refering to), this is showing something that logs data and the tunes can be done on a laptop and uploaded.

It might be the same company, just different hardware?

Take care,
Ceyko

Until someone clarifies, I am staying with this...

superchips.com

Refers to their stuff as Microtuners

http://www.sctflash.com/products.php

Refers to it is a Custom Tuner

Probably totally different company and tuner. Damn it, I just about bought the Microtuner...need to verify that it is any good as opposed to the custom tuner stuff. The programmers look the same. Confused.

SCT has several different options, yes they have the full blown Tuner package. But they also have the PCM Flasher or chip.

You can contact SCT (or www.modulardepot.com if you would like) and list your mods, they will burn a chip for you and send you a Flasher. You take the flasher, plug it into your OBD II slot and it will reprogram your computer in a couple of minutres. Go here: http://www.modulardepot.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_47&products_id=82

You can also get the 4 postion chip, i took some pictures of it last night, here is what it looks like: http://www.mustangmods.com/data/3243/picture_016.jpg
Its a rotary switch, and there are actually 8 positions (0-7), why they call it a 4 postion chip, i dont know. But you can do the same thing with the chip as you would with the Flasher. Contact SCT and they will put a couple different tunes on the chip. Lets say you run Nitrous, postion 0 would be your normal day to day driving, but you can flip the swich to postion 1. Postion 1 would be set up for your best performance with nitrous, then when you are done playing around you turn it back to 0 and drive home. Best of all, like i already said before, you can change it on the fly. No need to turn off the car. Position 6 and 7 are scramble, the car will not start in these two postions. There are a ton of options with the chip. The only downside is, that it takes a little longer to install. You have to remove the computer, clean the terminals and plug in the chip. More info go here: http://www.modulardepot.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_47&products_id=65

I dont know everything, but you can ask the experts here: http://forums.modulardepot.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=31

I hope i have helped, and i am still waiting for the reply from SCT Guy 3 about Superchips vs SCT

I just got my reply, this should help....

SCT Guy 3 said:
Mike, it's not a retarded question at all. In fact, it's one we get asked a lot. Superchips Custom Tuning (SCT) is a separate company from Superchips, but we are aligned with them. They own part of us, but we have different missions as companies. They deal with retail sales and stock vehicles, whereas we deal with mainly sales to our dealers and modified vehicles. We both offer chips for diesels, but they are not the same. To try to stem some of the confusion, we recently decided to call ourselves "SCT" to take the "Superchips" out of the name.

Both companies are located in the Orlando area in Flordia, but we do not share the same building or anything else other than the word "Superchips" in our name.

Superchips and Superchips Custom TuningLLC (SCT) are 2 different companies kinda working under the same name. SCT is a division of superchips.

sct has taken the stuff superchips has done and made it 1000 times better. they give you softwear to load into your computer to make changes to your car by yourself. ie change gears you can tune your car to fix the speedo, change maf you can then program it to match your injectors. wanna add timing sure just go into the softwear program under timing and add timing at whatever rpm range you want it at. there are so many more options that the sct tuner has than the superchips microtuner or the diablo preditor tuner. thoes pail in comparason.

go read on modulardepot all the info on the sct stuff.

btw they are trying to get away from the name "superchips custom tuning" because to many people are getting them confused with "superchips"

Yeah really, that does help a bunch!

So, it seems the infamous SCT is prefered. A distant second is the Diablo Predator and third is the Microtuner. Cool....thank you for the information!

Take care,
Chris
