Well amazone racing had allready downloaded a tune for my car into the hand held SCT tuner and all i had to do is plug it in. It then saved my Saleen tune and downloaded the new one. I deffinetly am looking forward to getting it dynoed. and then when i get the water/methanol injection kit all i have to do is call him and he will email me a new tune. But it can also be tuned by hand with the tuner.

Cool, that sounds easy enough. I am ordering mine as soon as i do the few mods that i have planned. Does anybody know where the best place to get a mail order tune is? I know some people have a lot of experience by working on a ton of stangs and they would probably have narrowed down the best tune for a certain mods that yields the biggest gains on the avg mustang. I know each car is different and it just depends, but it cant hurt. I have heard MPH or modular depot have done a ton of work and know what they are doing and is probably a good place to get a mail order tune. Anybody have any other suggestions?

Modular Depot Tunes are always way to rich. Never delt With Amazon. I got mine on my 2003 S-281SC From Mike At Kemperformance He did a Fabulus job on my tune, and i never had one problem with him, just give him all your mods, and he will biuld a custom tune for your car.

My Mods are

Mods:
~Reichard Racing 3.0 Ultra Grip Blower Pulley (10-11Psi)
~Xcal2 Tuned by Mike at Kem-Performance~
~Accufab 75MM Throttle Body~
~JLT Cold Air Intake~
~BBK Ceramic Coated Long Tube Headers~
~BBK Shorty Catted X pipe~
~Magnaflow catback~
~3:73 Gears~
~Lightning 90 MM MAF~
~Ford Racing 42# Injectors~
~SVT Focus Fuel Pump~
~NGK Tr6's Gapped at .038~
~Nitto 555Rll's~

I should be at around 400rwhp and 400rwtq.

S281sc#8 you should look into similiar mods as me for more power. You will not belive the difference in the car with all these mods. I will not be surprised if i run a low to mid 12 at over 110 MPH.

Now that you've got the new program in, be sure and rev it up to redline once or twice. The computer needs to "learn" the new program. When I first installed my SCT program and ran it on the dyno, it showed no boost in horsepower. The second time showed a boost of about 20 horsepower and then it leveled off.

I would suggest Monty at JMS Chips and Performance. This guy has been featured in several mustang mags and so have his cars. When he did my tune, I gained 70 ft/lbs of torque and almost 60 rwhp.
The cool thing about his tunes he is always gives you three new tunes on each reprogram. My programs were broken down into high octane, mid octane and low octane.

Also, try Pereformance Auto Sport, all they do are Saleens and they are great and knowledgeable people to work with.

Other great SCT tuners are James @ RWTD and Herman from Horse Power by Herman. I personally went with James on the mail order tune for my 03 but from what I hear herman is just as good.

Hey Josh,

My tuning was accomplished by JMS e-mailing my tune to me while I was at the dyno shop and then immediately doing a couple of dyno pulls. I would then send the raw data dump of the runs back to JMS (including the dyno graphs). It took about three revisions to get the car dialed-in. The tuning didn't cost me anything because I bought my SCT programmer from JMS ($345- unbeatable deal).

There are two dyno shops here in Albuquerque - the Dyno Edge and SpeedDreams. The dyno edge works primarily with Mustangs. Chris, the owner, has a 8 second notch. However, getting an appointment is sometimes frustrating. Chris is pretty busy and I usually have to just show-up in the morning when he first opens to get some pulls.
SpeedDreams, on the other hand, is a very professionally run business. They have the ability to log all parameters of you car for the best diagnosis and tuning - the Dyno Edge doesn't. Also, they have a great SCT & Predator tuner/programmer there that just rocks.

One hour of unlimited dyno pulls at the two places vary quite a bit with the Dyno Edge being much cheaper. However, individual runs are about equal. Besides, doing 4 0r 5 runs in an hour won't yield reproduceable results than can be tuned against. First run you have a cool engine and charge temp and everything gets hotter there after with back to back runs. To accurately tune the car all variables need to be a close to the same from run to run to accurately tune.

My choice is SpeedDreams (talk to Trip) now a days. Urist Racing & Development uses the Speed Dreams facility. If you are not familiar with Urist Racing, the are one of the top dogs in Mustang drag racing around the country.

If you want to get an idea of all the tuners here in Albuquerque, go to www.racingsouthwest.com there are forums and links to all of the tuner shops here in Albuquerque including: SpeedDreams, the Dyno Edge, & the Speedlab.

I was getting 365 rwhp & 405 rwt when we were all finished. Those numbers are reasonable and not pushing it IMO. I reached those numbers with the following mods:

- Chicane RIPP Kit
- Chicane 66mm Blower Pulley
- SVT Focus Fuel Pump
- SCT Custom Tune
- Ported & Polished Blower - this made s signifigant difference in HP and TQ
- Water Wetter to keep engine temp and intercooler running cooler(reduced temp by about 30 degrees) this made a signifigant difference
- Bassani X-Pipe
- Magnaflow Cat Back System
- MafterBurner Stage 1 - for minor A/F mixture adjustments
- NGK TR6 Plugs
- Plugged Blower By-Pass Vale
