sd friendly cam for explorer combo?

just wondering what cam could i use on a explorer combo that wont frig up the speed density?

comp cams xe270hr if you want a sweet cam for sd.

My question is how much better is it than the stock cam with 1.7 RR??

Much better , the xe270 can make tons of power! Its a much more aggressive grind then stock but your gonna need to upgrade your springs to run it. In article in mmff the little xe258 gained 30hp over the stock HO cam on a pretty mild engine combination.. the aggressive ramp rates do make a big difference.

Almost ready to buy. Can I use my 1.7 Crane Cobra 1.7 RR and will it pass emissions in Calif??

The xe270 is meant for 1.6 RR it has 512 lift. If you want to use your 1.7 RR the best SD cam for you would be the Crowler 15511 . Its a nice cam over stock with a broad HP and TQ range. Im not sure about emissions I think the EFI 270 will pass though you would need to call the manufacture of the cams to find out foresure.

Id also like to mention the two cams mentioned above kick the crap outta the FMS alphabet cams that seem so popular here!

I agree the alphabet cams from FMS suck and that is why I almost decided on the stock cam for my SD engine.

thanks guys for the help ive looked at both these cams now and im just tryin to decide which one lol.
