So I’ve got two plugs on my floor board that are the same shape as the plug on the drivers side seat belt buckle. One is a male and one’s a female so at first I thought they plugged together until I realized the seat belt buckle had a plug,

So one of these two on my floorboard plugs into the seat belt but then I have the one extra… I don’t see anything around it could plug in to. Does it just not plug into anything maybe something with the year my car was built that isn’t in use?

My 89 manual shows a BR/LB (brown/light blue) wire from the door chime to the seatbelt switch and a BK (black) wire from seatbelt switch to ground.

It says it's normally closed switch that opens with the belt buckled.

So, you should be looking for a BR/LB wire that is jumpered to ground or the paired black wire so that the chime doesn't sound.

Closed/Grounded circuit = Chime should be silent
Open Circuit = Chime should sound
